This error code serves as an odd placeholder for your hard drive and is a bit confusing if not broken down properly. On the surface the E70 error is described as the Kernel not being able to find a hard drive. This might be confusing, as the Xbox 360 console can run without a hard drive installed. This error ACTUALLY means a hard drive was detected but could not be found.
The obvious issue
99.9% chance that this error deals with the hard drive itself. Because the Xbox 360 console detected a hard drive, it is a good bet that the hard drive is the issue. As the connectors and ports clearly work due to one being detected. Try removing your hard drive and turn the console on. If the E70 error clears, buy a new hard drive!
Could be a southbridge issue
If for some reason replacing the HDD doesn't fix your E70 Xbox 360 error code, you probably have an issue with the southbridge chip on the motherboard. Fixing this can be a huge pain and nearly impossible for a beginner, so most of the time I would suggest getting a replacement motherboard to fix your issue.
